The FDA Says BPA is safe. Wait. What?

The FDA is at it again… Watch out, they’re trying to say that BPA is safe for you- but countless scientific studies prove that it is actually very dangerous.

The FDA is in bed with major chemical companies trying to get their profits up, all at the expense of the public’s health. They conducted a “study” with the results showing that BPA was not dangerous to humans. The problem is, their study was contaminated in the lab so their results should by any scientific standard, be discounted. Their results were, in all likelyhood, the exact opposite- BPA is a public health risk.

“[BPA is] one of the most common chemicals we’re exposed to each day, and it’s in everything from food and drink containers to dental fillings. BPA is a synthetic estrogen that can disrupt the hormone system, particularly when exposures occur while babies are still in the womb or in early life. Even miniscule exposures increase risks for breast cancer, prostate cancer, infertility, early puberty, metabolic disorders and type-2 diabetes. Some BPA alternatives, such as BPS, have come on the market, but have yet to be proven safe.” – www.breastcancerfund.org

Why is it that profit is more important than human health? Do the scientists and CEOs of these companies and those who head the FDA consume BPA? Do they feed it to their families? That would be interesting to know.

I know that many scientists won’t eat certain foods because they know just how many chemicals and toxins are in those items. Check out 7 Foods That Should Never Cross Your Lips. Note that the first item is canned tomatoes. The acid in the tomatoes acts as a draw for the BPA and absorbs it, so when you eat it, you’re eating more than just tomatoes, you’re eating large amounts of a cancer causing chemical too. They’re loaded with BPA. Because of this, and our history of cancer in our family, we only buy organic tomatoes in glass jars and BPA free cans.
